I couldn’t help myself in light of this story, which dispels the rumor that Mary-Kate Olsen is pregnant. The National Enquirer initially published the story, citing that Mary-Kate has recently gained some weight and was either in an “eating binge” or “something more joyous,” according to an unnamed friend of the actress.
The fact that the Enquirer published an inaccurate story is hardly the issue at hand; they’re not known for their credibility. But here’s what is: Mary-Kate is just the latest victim of the “is she fat or is she pregnant?” crap that Hollywood has spurned on female celebs that have recently gained weight…because pregnancy is the only acceptable reason why an actress should gain weight, dontchaknow.
Mary-Kate’s battle with anorexia has been well-documented since 2004. A few red carpet appearances with an emaciated frame spawned rumors, and she entered treatment that summer. Since then, the press has been hounding her about every pound – is she gaining? Losing? OMG, she looks like death again!
At her worst, Mary-Kate reportedly weighed 80 pounds. Recent information discloses that her recent weight gain puts her at a much healthier 102. So a normal weight means she must be pregnant?
Get a fucking grip, Hollywood. And leave the girl alone. The fact that she’s at a healthier weight probably means she’s found some happiness in her life. Don’t ruin it for her, for cryin’ out loud.

Good Lord, I so hope that the poor girl never gets to read these appalling things.
An eating disorder is hard enough and to suffer and recover from it in the public eye can only make matters worse…but then to have the effects of your hard-won recovery mocked in the national press must be unimaginably painful.
